Ann Smallwood

Ann Smallwood resigned from the Forest of Dean District Council at the end of 2006.

Ann and her husband Keith had lived in Sling for many years. Keith retired last year and they decided to take the opportunity to travel around Europe with their caravan.

Ann worked very hard for the Forest of Dean and will be missed by her many friends and colleagues.

In the past, she represented Coleford as a County Councillor, a District Councillor and a Parish Councillor.

She was a ward sister at Stowfield Hospital and later,  a school nurse and a health vistor.

She helped establish the "Contact a Family" charity for disabled children.

She was a former chair of the Children's Opportunity Centre in the Forest of Dean.

She had been a Governor at both Coalway Infants School and the Royal Forest of Dean College.

She was a former chair of the Credit Union Steering Group.

She helped establish the Dr Charley Day Centre for local elderly people.

We wish Ann and Keith good luck in their adventures!
