OUR MINOR ROADS ARE A DISGRACE.

THERE IS A £50 MILLION BACKLOG OF WORK

Most case work is a result of the state of our roads. The minor roads especially are a cause for concern, and are breaking up faster than the divisional surveyor can repair them.

In addition to this the Government is planning to de-trunk the A40 and the A48 next year without giving the County Council the resources to maintain these routes.

Gloucestershire has been unfairly penalised over the past ten years by central government, and this has left the County, and more especially the Forest area, with some of the worst roads in the country.

Lib Dems made certain that more cash was in the last few years budgets for roads ...against the Tory group’s wishes. But this is simply not enough.Lib Dems want to see more money for local areas to decide on their priorities for roads and road safety issues

Working for you

Pot Holes...Broken paths.......

Cllr Liz Boait has suggested that a local group of residents from each Parish could look at the problem of how to prioritise where the roads maintenance budget goes in this division, and work with the divisional surveyor to help with the difficult job of meeting all needs.

Investing in our schools is important.

Primary schools in this area are small and important to the local communities.

Liz Boait is due to join a best value challenge group to look at the effectiveness of planning for school places if re-elected.
'It will be important recognise the difference between the needs of rural communities, and larger urban centres.’

District Cllr Joy Henbest joins Liz Boait on the site of the new school in Church Rd, Longhope. All groups are working together to make sure this building meets all needs.’
